The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on July 08, 2026, issued notification regarding the Implementation of Employees' Enrolment Campaign, 2026.
The Ministry of Labour & Employment has introduced the Employees’ Enrolment Campaign, 2026 vide Notifications No. G.S.R. 525(E), 526(E) and 527(E), providing a one-time opportunity for employers to enroll eligible employees who were left out of EPF coverage during the period April 01, 2009 to March 31, 2026. The scheme is effective from July 01, 2026 to October 31, 2026 and is applicable to all establishments, irrespective of their existing EPF coverage status. Employers can register afresh and declare such employees through the EPFO portal using an online process linked with TRRN.
The scheme mandates generation of Face Authentication-based UAN through the UMANG App and submission of contributions via ECR. It offers significant relief, including waiver of employee contribution (if not previously deducted) and requires employers to pay only the employer’s share along with interest and administrative charges. Damages are capped at a nominal lump sum of ₹100 per establishment. Multiple declarations are allowed, but only for employees who are alive and currently employed at the time of declaration.
Additionally, the scheme provides that no suo-motu action will be taken for employees who exited prior to declaration, and establishments under inquiry can also participate, with limited benefits. Employers availing this scheme may also be eligible for PM-VBRY benefits, subject to conditions. Authorities have been directed to ensure wide dissemination, awareness, and facilitation support for smooth implementation.
